Chronic Lower Back Pain

Chronic Lower Back Pain

Chronic low back pain refers to pain that lasts for at least 12 weeks. Back pain is usually treated with physical therapy and exercise, nonsurgical therapy, and medication. Pain and limited mobility are the most common symptoms. In the last decade, this condition has increased. Criteria for trial included adult patients aged 18 and older and clinically diagnosed with chronic low back pain. There were two groups, the experimental group and the control group. In the experimental group, patients were treated with extracorporeal shockwave therapy. In the control group, patients were treated with physical exercise, physiotherapy, and medicine. There was a total of 632 patients who participated in this trial. The extracorporeal shockwave therapy reported significantly more pain relief and significant lumbar dysfunction than the control group in just 4 weeks.
