Supportive care and rehabilitation of cancer patients

Cancer rehabilitation has been shown to accelerate patients returning to work and improve the work ability and social participation of cancer survivors. Patients who have been diagnosed and treated for cancer show symptoms that immobilize musculoskeletal conditions which prohibit active exercise due to severe bodily pain. In cancer rehabilitation, physical therapy such as exercise to improve muscle strength, endurance capacity, sensorimotor functions, and flexibility are of high importance. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is an effective and cost-efficient approach to the supportive care and rehabilitation of cancer patients. Shockwave therapy is an effective way to reduce pain and mobilize cancer patients by attending rehabilitation programs and returning to work.
